Travelling into the UAE via a land border will become easier from Tuesday

Exponential Deep Examination scanners will now be used at the border.

Those arriving into the UAE via a land border will no longer need to undergo a pre-departure PCR test it has been revealed.

Taking effect from tomorrow (29 March), the announcement made by the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) will see both vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors being able to travel into the UAE by road without having to produce a negative PCR test certificate from their country of origin.

Instead, travellers will have to undergo a rapid Exponential Deep Examination (EDE) scan upon arrival at border control.

Only when the results arrive will visitors be permitted to the country.

It is the latest update to protocols relating to COVID-19 in the country with Abu Dhabi revealing that it is relaxing its closed contact requirements.
