The best female cyclists across the Middle East are in town

Uae Team Adq

The UAE Team ADQ is in Abu Dhabi for its first bootcamp.

In a first for both Abu Dhabi and UAE Team ADQ, the UAE’s professional Women’s World Tour (WWT) cycling team – a bootcamp awaits!

Accredited by Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), all 15 riders are now in the capital for their first bootcamp training. During their 10-day visit to Abu Dhabi, there will be several team training sessions on the traditional Cycling Landscape of Abu Dhabi (Al Hudayriyat Island, Al Wathba, and Yas Marina Circuit).

And of course, attending various sponsor events.

One of the highlights of the team’s visit is undoubtedly the ‘Women Community Ride’ at Yas Marina Circuit. Scheduled for 17 October at 7pm, the event is open to all women, regardless of their cycling level. For those interested, it’s a special opportunity to join the UAE Team ADQ pro-riders on a tour around the circuit.

Since their inception in 2021 as the first women’s professional cycling team in the Middle East, the team has added several feathers to their metaphorical hats. Hailing from New Zealand, Belarus, Canada, Slovenia, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, and the UAE, they’ve competed among 14 other international teams in Women’s World Tour races.

During the bootcamp, the UAE Team ADQ will be training in preparation for the new UCI World Tour 2023 races and events, including the Trio of Grand Tours: Tour de France Femmes, Giro Donne, and Challenge by La Vuelta. These powerful women are certainly not getting two-tyred of winning!
