UAE third on global ranking in dealing with Covid-19

Only Ireland and Spain are placed higher.

The UAE has been listed third in the world when comparing how well countries are controlling the spread of Covid-19 while reopening their economies it has been revealed.

The study, the Bloomberg Covid Resilience Ranking, placed the country behind only Ireland and Spain.

A continued decrease in the number of cases with one of the highest vaccination rates on the planet has seen the UAE move up three spots since the league table was last published in September.

At the time of writing, just under 21 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine has been administered in the country with some 87 per cent of the country being fully vaccinated.

More than 97 per cent of the country has received at least one jab.

There are less than 1,000 confirmed cases a week with the total number of active cases standing at 3,791 with more than 92 million PCR tests being conducted since the start of the pandemic.
