All passengers from around the world travelling to the UK need to show a negative covid test result.
The decision by the UK government was taken due to a rise in coronavirus cases across the UAE, according to reports in the UK media and government web.
This follows the UK’s Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announcement on 8 January that passengers arriving by plane, ferry and train will need to provide a negative test result from the previous 72 hours if they are to enter the United Kingdom.
Now all travellers arriving into the UK will have to self-isolate if they have been in the UAE.
The UK Foreign Office is also advising “against all but essential travel” to the UAE, it said on its website, which also outlines guidelines for those returning to the UAE from the UK.
