Abu Dhabi approves entry rules for public places for vaccinated people

60-day grace period for new residency permit holders.

It’s confirmed.

Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee approves entry process into public places limited to those vaccinated from 20 August.

Entry will only allow those showing green status on Al Hosn app, which will require a PCR test every 30 days, or those who are exempt from vaccination with green status, which requires a PCR test every seven days, and children under 16 with green status.

The list of venues for those showing the green status includes shopping centres and malls, restaurants, cafes, all other retail outlets, including those not within a shopping centre, gyms, recreational facilities and sporting activities, health clubs, resorts, museums, cultural centres and theme parks.

The list also includes universities, institutes, public and private schools and children’s nurseries in the emirate.

Those unvaccinated or with grey status showing on Al Hosn app will not be allowed entry to such places.

The UAE News Agency – Wam reported that “the committee explained that to maintain the vaccinated status on Al Hosn app, a booster dose must be taken six months after receiving the second vaccine dose pertaining to the medical protocol for each vaccine.”

It pointed out that committee said that a grace period of 30 days is to be administered to all those who have taken their second dose more than six months ago, before their status turns grey on 20 September.

Participants in vaccine trials are exempt from needing a booster dose.
