Know the facts before booking your flight.
Travel news has been music to all our ears this week, with travellers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh allowed to fly to the UAE once again.
Great news came out of the UK at the end of last week, too, and now Etihad Airways has no less than 28 flights scheduled a week to the UK cities of London and Manchester.
But does that mean you won’t have to quarantine and which vaccine is accepted in the UK so you can enter?
This depends on a number of factors.
According to the Etihad Airways website, those travelling to the UK from the UAE who are unvaccinated will be required to have a negative PCR test 72 hours before departure and to undergo 10 days home quarantine in the UK, as well as follow up Covid-19 tests on day two and day eight.
Fully vaccinated travellers who have been vaccinated in the UK, US or Europe are exempt from quarantine and the day eight test.
Of course, it’s up to you to check the fact before you book your flight and head to the cloudy skies of the UK, or any other destination for that matter.
You don’t need us – but we will for safe measure – remind you of how rules and regulations surrounding the pandemic and what and what isn’t allowed can change in the blink of an eye.
And with travellers now able to book flights to the UAE from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka, then please keep the following in mind.
Any passengers returning to the UAE from the said countries must have a valid residency and proof of having received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine within the UAE no less than 14 days before travel.
Unvaccinated people in certain categories eligible to return include medical workers, UAE based teachers, students, residents with extenuating circumstances, patients undergoing medical treatment in the UAE and employees who work for federal or local government agencies.
All passengers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka must apply for permission to return through the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship website.
Safe travels!
