Rain has fallen in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi with further downpours expected throughout the UAE
The UAE has been experiencing unusual weather patterns, with heavy rain and hail reported on Monday along the Dubai-Al Ain Road and in Al Ain’s Masakin area.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has already issued an amber weather warning for Abu Dhabi and different parts of the country.
But will we see rain in Dubai this week?
Over the last two days, light rain and heavy drizzles have been observed in various parts of the country, with predictions of partly cloudy to cloudy skies prevailing in most regions.
The NCM forecasts that Al Ain will see moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days, with Abu Dhabi also likely to experience showers as well. Temperatures across the UAE are expected to drop by 2-3°C.
The ITCZ, a belt of low pressure near the equator where the trade winds of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres converge, is shifting northward, causing an extension of low pressure over Oman and the eastern UAE.

The primary areas affected will be the East and the South, with this pattern expected to continue until 7 August.
Over the next few days, the country will experience a drop in temperatures by 2-3°C, with internal areas seeing maximum temperatures between 43-47°C and coastal areas between 30-42°C.
Will Dubai experience rain?
With these predictions, it’s uncertain whether Dubai will experience significant rainfall this week.
While Al Ain and some eastern and southern regions are expected to see more concentrated rains, Dubai’s weather may largely depend on the ITCZ’s movement and intensity.
Residents should prepare for potential rain showers, especially in the mornings and evenings, while also enjoying slightly cooler temperatures.
