World’s Largest Waste-To-Energy Plant

The first phase was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai

The UAE continues to walk the green walk, with their latest unveiling in Dubai being a major first for both the country and the world!

The world’s largest, and most efficient, waste-to-energy plant is now in Dubai’s Warsan area, marking a major sustainable moment for the emirate.

The first phase of the project is worth AED 4 billion, and was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

According to his tweet, the facility can process 2 million tonnes of waste per year and generate 220 megawatt-hours of renewable energy, which is enough to power 135,000 residential units.

“The remarkable project reinforces Dubai’s status as a global leader in sustainable infrastructure,” says Sheikh Hamdan, who also congratulated the ‘exceptional teams’ involved.
