Arab innovators invited to find solutions to climate change issue
Calling all ‘The Apprentice’ fans out there, listen up, PepsiCo and the Arab Youth Centre are seeking applications for a new regional entrepreneurship to create greater awareness of climate change in the Gulf region.
Run in conjunction with the forthcoming C0P28 initiative young aspiring Arab innovators can apply for Arab Youth Hackathon, aimed at creating smarter solutions to climate-related issues in the areas of agriculture, circular economy, water security, and renewable energy and efficiency.

Recent statistics revealed that 65 per cent of members in MENA are worried about climate change and the effect it has on our world. However, this new initiative is set to inspire the innovators of tomorrow to combat the increasingly concerning issue.
The hackathon will run in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon, and is seeking applicants including university students and budding entrepreneurs to get become inspired and get involved.
Candidates must apply in teams of two to three participants aged between 18 to 35 years of age, with at least one member older than 21 years.

In the UAE, the hackathon will take place at the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park from 7 to 9 October. The finals of the competition will feature 15 of the most encouraging solutions and PepsiCo Foundation are handing out $50000 in total to the winners.
