Ramadan 2022: Iftar at Al Forsan is a brilliant fun-filled family affair

Indulge the entire family in Al Forsan’s fabulous Iftar and Suhoor offering including fun-filled activities too.

PARTNER CONTENT: It is no secret in Abu Dhabi that Al Forsan International Sports Resort is the place to be for the entire family to get together and participate in a wide range of brilliant activities and also find the perfect dining spot in a number of highly regarded venues.

Then there is the elegant ballroom for those special occasions and one such occasion is Ramadan and all that the Holy Month entails from magnificent iftars to enticing Suhoors.

From 7pm each day during Ramadan, families are invited to break their fast with a lavish buffet that the resort’s chefs have thoughtfully put together.

And for Suhoor, Wave takes it to the next level with its alfresco offering.

As the call to prayer signals the end of fasting for the day, break your fast at Al Forsan Ballroom with refreshingly traditional Ramadan drinks such as Qamar Al-Deen made from apricots, Jallab which is laden with carob, dates, grape molasses and rose water, and Erk Sous, a traditional Egyptian liquorice juice.

Next, tuck into cold mezze, a selection of delicious Levantine salads including hummus, babaghanouj, mutable, fattoush, tabbouleh and stuffed vine leaves among others.

Then, of course, there is hot mezze.

Generous servings of Ramadan staples await such as meat-filled sambousek, crispy cheese rolls, batata harra – spicy sautéed cubes of potatoes sprinkled in fresh coriander, delicious, traditional fried kibbeh balls made with burghul wheat and seasoned ground beef and onion.

The lavish Iftar buffet also includes live stations where you get to fill your plate with Middle Eastern and international delights.

Head to the shawarma station for juicy slices of flavoursome meat or chicken. Or tuck into a Ramadan favourite of Lamb Ouzi, an incredible rice-based dish of tender lamb marinated in a host of spices.

Other favourites include stuffed courgette, pasta dishes, kibbeh bi Leban, a delicious Lebanese recipe made with kibbeh balls in a thick yogurt sauce.

There is also a live barbeque station firing up an array of different meats.

And there is even a taste of India and the butter chicken dish comes highly recommended. Please leave room for a simply mouthwatering lineup of tasty Ramadan desserts from the popular Umm Ali, a wide selection of French pastries, chocolate cake and cheese cake.

And it would not be Ramadan without traditional Arabic sweets such as Kallaj Ramadan and classic qatayief sweets stuffed and with nuts and cream.

And apart from being serenaded by an oud player, you can also upgrade your Iftar offering, which is just an incredible AED 129, and turn it into an Iftar Deal for AED 199 which includes a choice of one activity such as karting, wakeboarding or shooting a 9mm pistol, thus creating an evening that is a truly family affair.
