Dubai Marathon

The event will feature three race categories: a 4km fun run, a 10km race, and the classic 42.195km marathon

The 24th Dubai Marathon, one of the fastest races in the region, is set to take place on Sunday, 12 January with final preparations underway.

Hosted under the auspices of the Dubai Sports Council, the event will feature three race categories: a 4km fun run, a 10km race, and the classic 42.195km marathon.

Organisers are collaborating closely with Dubai’s government departments, including the RTA and Dubai Police, to ensure seamless operations.

“Our focus is on delivering an event that appeals to both elite and amateur runners,” said Race Director Peter Connerton.

The marathon will see participants tackle scenic routes through Jumeirah Beach Road, Al Sufouh, and Umm Suqeim, offering flat and fast roads perfect for breaking records.

His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, emphasised the city’s commitment to hosting an exceptional race, welcoming runners from around the globe.

Renowned for its record-breaking potential, the Dubai Marathon introduced Ethiopian Tigist Ketema in 2024, who set the fastest-ever women’s debut marathon time of 2:16:07 before claiming victory in Berlin later that year.

Supported by partners like adidas, Dubai Duty Free, and Bisleri Water, the event promises another unforgettable experience.
