Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to be at full capacity

The race takes place in December.

Race fans it’s time to rev up your engines because we have exciting news for which you don’t want to be slow off the mark.

The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2021 will be at maximum capacity for the race meet at the end of the year, organisers have confirmed.

Ticketholders will also be able to experience the traditional Pit Lane Walk on Thursday with an additional option for Paddock Club members to gain exclusive access to the track the day before.

All attendees must present a green pass on their Al Hosn app with a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours to gain entry. Children under the age of 12 will not be permitted to attend.

The return of 100 per cent filled stadia was welcomed by Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO, Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management,

He said: “On behalf of everyone at Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management and Yas Marina Circuit, I think I can safely say we are thrilled that the latest update in government regulations allows us to safely return to full capacity at the venue and announce that additional tickets are now on sale.

“We look forward to welcoming back fans for what’s set up to be a fantastic weekend of sport and entertainment at Yas Marina Circuit. The boost in spectators to be a full crowd present on race day will play a special role in creating the atmosphere and buzz we have come to associate with the event as a highlight of the UAE’s sporting calendar.”

Pencilled in for 12th December, Yas Marina Circuit will see the crescendo of the F1 season under the lights.

It’s just the latest big news from the circuit that announced last month Yasalam After-Race Concerts were to return with Scottish crooner Lewis Capaldi and US act Khalid already confirmed to serenade crowds.

All visitors will have access to the Thursday concert headlined by Khalid with single-day ticket ticketholders being able to attend the concert on the day stated on their stub.

Two-day ticketholders will have access to the Saturday and Sunday concerts as well as Thursday and those with three-day tickets will be able to access all nights of After-Race entertainment.

Last year’s race was held behind closed doors due to Covid-19 restrictions. On that occasion Red Bull Racing-Honda’s Max Verstappaen reached the chequered flag first.

The 2021 edition will be the 13th time the race has been ran in Abu Dhabi.
