It’s the final countdown to the NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2022 and we’re excited, as we know you are.
Not sure if you saw it, but DCT – Abu Dhabi headed to Dubai and in collaboration with the National Basketball Association to celebrate the event on Friday, 30 September, when a larger-than-life projection on the side of the iconic Burj Khalifa followed by a mega light show.

Crowds were in awe as the countdown clock started to countdown as beams of lights struck the iconic tower.

The NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2022 will feature the Atlanta Hawks and the Milwaukee Bucks playing two preseason games at Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, 6 October 6 and Saturday, 8 October 8pm GST, marking the league’s first games in the UAE and the Arabian Gulf. The games are part of a ground-breaking multiyear collaboration between the NBA and DCT Abu Dhabi.
“NBA District”, an immersive, interactive fan event in conjunction with The NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2022, will be held at Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi from Wednesday, Oct. 5 – Sunday, Oct 9. Ideal for both those attending the games and visiting the region, NBA District will showcase the music, media and art associated with NBA culture.
Fans will be able to engage with NBA personalities from around the world, watch authentic NBA game entertainment, enjoy hands-on basketball activities, and purchase limited-edition NBA merchandise.
