Negative PCR test required within 48 hours of Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship

The tournament begins on Thursday 20 January.

Are you planning on swinging round to Yas Island for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship this week?

Well you will need to provide a negative PCR test not exceeding 48 hours upon entry if you wish to see the world’s best golf players showcase their skills in the flesh at Yas Links Abu Dhabi.

The announcement made by tournament organisers comes after Abu Dhabi authorities updated measures surrounding the hosting of events in the emirate and sees the validity of PCR tests for gaining entry decrease from 96 hours.

Aside from the action on the golf course, there will be plenty to keep you entertained when you are finished discussing the vagaries of the greens or which club should be used off the tee.

Former Westlife star, Brian McFadden, will be serenading the crowds on Ladies’ Day (Saturday 22 January) with Greg Pearson and Arqam Al Arbi performing on Family Day (Sunday 23 January).

The tournament tees off this Thursday (20 January) and will be hosting some of the biggest names in world golf including Rory McIllroy, Collin Morikawa, Shane Lowry and Lee Westwood.

For the first time in the 17-year history of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, it will be held at Yas Links Abu Dhabi after the 16 previous editions were played out at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

Tickets for the event are free and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster UAE.
