Bring your gloves because it’s going to be cold.
One word can describe Dubai in the summer – hot.
The city’s thermometers consistently top 40 degrees Celsius during the season, making life a little more than uncomfortable for our favourite outdoor activities.
But fear not as Yalla UAE has come up with three superb ways to beat the heat this summer in Dubai.
So, leave the sun lotion in the cupboard and grab your gloves as we head indoors for three amazing cool things to do.

INFINITE SKI
HIT THE SLOPESIf you want all-year-round access to winter sports but without the bulky ski wear and queuing for chairlifts, Infinite SKI is the place to be. The first ever Maxxtracks indoor ski slope in the Middle East, here you can learn to ski and snowboard quickly or hone your existing skills.
The cool air-conditioned slopes make a welcome relief from the outside heat, but don’t be fooled, there is no actual snow. Instead, there are state-of-the-art Maxxtracks or “carpets” as the instructors call them. These two rotating slopes – like a giant treadmill, effectively allow you to ski forever. In fact, in 15 minutes you can experience approximately 10km of a ski run in one go.
Though nothing quite compares to the picturesque scenery of snowy-topped mountains, the team at Infinite SKI believe that Maxxtracks are a great practical and affordable alternative. You can be from car to the slopes in five minutes, so regular practice is easier to schedule. The instructors also pride themselves on being able to teach a beginner to be a safe skier in three hours, that’s ten times faster than on real slopes.
Whether you are a complete novice or mastering your technique, a qualified instructor is on hand to adapt the slopes’ speed and incline to your skill level via remote control. This helps you to improve much faster as the carpet can slow down or stop before you lose your balance. Mirrors on the wall also allow you to check your form.
Each slope can accommodate up to three people at a time, so it makes for a great family day out, a date with friends, or even a solo activity. Infinite SKI is accessible to everyone and has no age limit, boasting students from 18 months to 73 years old.
Dubai hosts the first Infinite SKI, but rumour has it, that they are heading to the capital and opening an Abu Dhabi branch next year. Watch this space!
