This is great news for those of us in the UAE who want to travel back to Blighty for the festive season.
Those travelling to the UK from the UAE will no longer have to go into two week isolation on arrival to the UK.
According to UK newspaper, The Express, these marks “a huge milestone for long-haul travel from the UK.”
The UK’s Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced the move on Twitter on Thursday, 12 November, stating that the travel corridor between the UK and the UAE will be put in place from 4am Saturday, 14 November.

BAHRAIN, CHILE, ICELAND, CAMBODIA, LAOS, UAE, QATAR and TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS have been ADDED to the #TravelCorridor list. The Express newspaper reported that the travel corridor between London and the UAE “… would restart not only leisure travel but business travel too.”
Travellers flying to the UK from the UAE will now no longer have to self-isolate for two.
According to the UK’s Transport Secretary Grant Shapps, other countries added to the UK’s air travel quarantine-free list are Qatar, Turks and Caicos, Iceland, Laos, Cambodia, Chile and Bahrain. Travellers flying from these countries to the UK will not have to self-isolate upon arrival.
