The V10 R League finals will be roaring into Abu Dhabi this July

The action will be taking place at Yas Mall.

The best eSports gamers on the planet will be setting their controllers for Abu Dhabi as the capital gets ready to host the World Finals of the V10 R League this July.

Taking place on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 July, the tournament is the culmination of the final rounds of the Sim Racing series and will see the outright winner of the tournament crowned at Yas Mall.

Now into its third season and returning to in-person audiences, the competition hosted in partnership by Miral Group, Abu Dhabi Gaming and Etihad Airways, will see of the biggest names in Sim Racing including Mercedes AMG Esports, Red Bull Racing Esports, Aston Martin eSports and local team of YAS HEAT from Abu Dhabi, compete for a prize pot of £100,000.

Teams will go through a rigorous five-week qualification process to reach the finals weekend that will be streamed live on the V10 R-League social channels as well as BT Sport in the UK.

Speaking on the announcement CEO of Miral, Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi said; “We are delighted to have the third season of World Finals of V10 R League on Yas Island on 22 and 23 July, further positioning it as a top global destination for leisure, entertainment and sport events.

“It is exciting to bring some of the biggest names in virtual motorsport to the region and here to Abu Dhabi and Yas Island, especially with the huge appetite for virtual motorsport that we witnessed in the recent years. Fans are counting down the days to witness this thrilling event.”

Saif Al Noaimi CEO of Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management added; “We are delighted to announce the first live finals event of the V10 R League will take place this summer at Yas Mall, with an impressive roster of motorsports teams set to compete in this year’s final round in Abu Dhabi.

“We’ve seen tremendous success and growth of new driving talent in recent years coming through the V10 R League and out onto the tracks across the world including at Yas Marina Circuit. We look forward to seeing the next generation of racers competing this summer at the live finals.”

The V10 R League is a unique racing format in which teams of three go head-to-head on track in a series of sprint race formats and the series, designed to be high drama and wheel to wheel, is raced in a unique V10 powered open wheel car, modified to make this series the fastest racing competition in the world.

As a regular feature in the training and development of the current and next generation of on-track driving talent across motorsports, Sim Racing allows drivers to replicate their driving performance via simulation in order to perfect their techniques and strategies for race day.

Through their participation in the V10 R League, drivers including the likes of former Aston Martin eSports driver, Lucas Blakeley who recently pipped four-time F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel to the post in the 2021 Race of Champions on the ice in Sweden, while Team Redline driver Enzo Bonito left his mark in the same event in 2019 by beating a range of world class racers on track.
