There’s some good news on that front, at least for part of Dubai’s population. The Road and Transport Authority is now offering senior Emiratis and People of Determination a paperless option.

Starting 20 August, RTA’s smart service offering will be complemented by digitising the parking permit services for the aforementioned populations. No more printing and sticking on windshields!
The smart permit comes with a new feature entitling the user to add up to five vehicles in each permit.
You can activate one vehicle at a time through the website or the RTA Dubai App, with one primary vehicle and four secondary vehicles.

Through this initiative, the RTA is keen to transform its services into smart and proactive ones in line with the Smart City initiative and sustainability in service delivery.
Furthermore, other additional services include issuing and renewing permits that allow you to use public parking for free.
For people of determination, it also includes free permanent and temporary permits, tourist parking permit, parking permit for rehabilitation centres and a parking permit for those with certain medical conditions allowing them to use public parking and allocated people of determination parking spaces.
A good move for both the community and the environment.
