Normal bus services resume in Dubai following bad weather

Bus Schedules Resumes

More heavy rainfall causes RTA to suspend its bus schedule in Dubai

Dubai is slowly returning to normal once more following the latest round of bad weather this week, with the Road Traffic Authority confirming that normal bus services have resumed today.

Stormy conditions and more heavy rainfall hit Dubai during the week with authorities forced to put restrictions in place once more.

Although the latest scenes were not as harrowing as those witnessed two weeks ago when the UAE recorded the heaviest rainfall in 75 years, other precautionary measures were implemented.

School closures

The Government also took the step the timely decision yesterday to place schools online until the end of the week. So today and tomorrow schools were ordered to conduct remote learning for all students in the city, a move which has followed suit in Abu Dhabi last night.

Travel tips

Travel plans have also taken a hit with a number of cancelled flights with Emirates, which will cause even further disruption. But here are some UAE airport advisories to make note of if you have a trip to make.

Parks and public beach closures

Authorities took the decision to shut down public parks as well as public beaches until further notice with the threat of even more treacherous conditions on the way.

Keeping safe at home

In terms of ensuring safety at home, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) urges homeowners and renters to prioritise preventive maintenance to safeguard against potential electricity disruptions.

The most important thing is that everyone keeps safe though as no one wants a repeat of the frightening scenes which engulfed the city two weeks ago.

Stay safe everyone!
