Shorter Eid Al Fitr break, long weekends and the full list of UAE public holidays in 2025 revealed

The latest Eid Al Adha break might have just ended, but we’re already planning for the next long break this 2024. And while we’re at it, the full list of UAE public holidays for 2025 has also been revealed!

The UAE government has announced the official holiday dates for 2025, and even with adjustments owing to the lunar calendar, it’s the perfect opportunity for residents to get planning those vacations.

And if you’re a fan of those long weekends (who isn’t?), the resolution comes into effect from 1 January 2025 and allows for UAE public holidays that fall on weekends to be moved to the beginning or end of the week.

Of course, local governments have the flexibility to approve additional holidays for special occasions or other reasons for their departments and institutions.

Eid Al Fitr

Monday, 31 March to Wednesday, 2 April 2025 (Shawwal 1-3)

Eid Al Fitr Announcement For Uae Public Holiday

Marking the end of Ramadan, Eid Al Fitr will be a shorter break in 2025, most probably celebrated with a three-day holiday from 31 March to 2 April. Of course, this depends on the moon sightings and the dates for Ramadan, but the holiday could be a five-day break.

Arafat Day & Eid Al Adha

Thursday, 5 June to Sunday, 8 June 2025 (Dhu Al Hijjah 9-12)

Arafat Day, based on the moon sighting, is expected to fall on Thursday, 5 June, and is followed by Eid Al Adha, making it a four-day holiday.

Again an approximation that will be confirmed by the lunar calendar, the Islamic New Year may be observed with a holiday on 26 June.

 

Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) Birthday

Thursday, 4 September 2025 (Rabi Al Awwal 12)

A Quran, Book Of The Muslims, Celebrating Prophet Mohammad'S Birthday For Uae Public Holidays

The birthday of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) will be observed on 4 September. Like other Islamic holidays, this date is approximate and subject to lunar calendar confirmation.

 

Commemoration Day & National Day

Tuesday, 2 December to Wednesday, 3 December 2025

Uae Flags Commemorating The Uae National Day For Uae Public Holidays

The end of the year will see a two-day holiday for Commemoration Day and the UAE National Day, celebrated on 2 and 3 December. This marks the 54th National Day, continuing the tradition of a two-day celebration.
