The much-anticipated Paris 2024 Olympic Games will kick off this Friday, 26 July, and 14 members of the UAE Olympic team will be competing!
With 10,500 athletes from 200 National Olympic Committees competing in 32 sports across 329 events at 35 venues this is set to be one of the biggest events in the world this year.
The UAE National Olympic Committee proudly announced that 14 Emirati athletes will compete in five sports: equestrian, judo, cycling, swimming, and athletics.
The UAE delegation will begin its journey with swimming and judo competitions two days after the opening ceremony.
Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Director-General of the General Authority of Sports, emphasized the significance of this event for the UAE’s sporting future.

“Since our debut at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, we have dreamed of a bright sporting future filled with achievements. Our participation embodies the vision of our leadership and the aspirations of our people,” he said.
The Paris 2024 Olympics is a crucial milestone in the UAE’s sporting journey, reflecting the goals of the National Sports Strategy 2031.
This strategy aims to increase the number of qualified Emirati athletes and elevate the UAE’s presence on the global sports stage.
