There’s more than five reasons at least to hit up the newly opened OIA Greek Restaurant and Pool Lounge in JBR
There are plenty of reasons to visit OIA Greek Restaurant and Pool Lounge at JBR, but I’d be hard-pressed to choose the best one.
From the stunning views of Dubai’s coastline to the Instagram-worthy décor and a menu packed with Mediterranean delights, OIA offers a luxurious escape that feels like a quick getaway to Santorini – no passport required.
The space radiates a sense of relaxed elegance, where whitewashed walls and soft blue accents mimic the idyllic charm of the Greek islands. By day, it’s a serene haven, and by night, the twinkling city lights enhance its allure. It’s the perfect spot for everything from laid-back brunches to lively evening dinners.
The first dish to arrive was the Cheese Saganaki, a dish that effortlessly balances sweet, salty, and tangy flavours. The grilled Greek halloumi was paired with organic honey, fresh figs, and a squeeze of lemon, creating a textural medley that’s both indulgent and refreshing.
Next came the Spinach Pie, a classic executed to perfection with its golden, flaky layers, and the Grilled Octopus, which was tender and smoky, accompanied by a variety of condiments that added complexity to each bite.
OIA also shines in its drinks menu, with options as vibrant as its atmosphere. The Santorini Sour and Cucumber Martini stood out, offering a refreshing complement to the rich Mediterranean flavours on the table.
For mains, the Grilled Seabass was nothing short of spectacular. A whole fillet was presented with a crisp, golden skin and melt-in-your-mouth flesh that’s a true testament to the expert hands that prepared it. Accompanied by braised artichoke and delicate garnishes, it was hearty yet refined – a true showstopper.
Desserts, however, stole the spotlight. Each sweet offering felt like a decadent finale, but the Greek Yoghurt Ice Cream was a personal favourite. Creamy, tangy, and perfectly balanced, it was a light yet satisfying end to the meal that left a lasting impression.
As Dubai’s restaurant scene continues to explode, places like OIA serve as a reminder that places can comfortably walk the line between lively and loud.
With exceptional food, better vibes, and unbeatable views, it’s a slice of the Greek islands right in the heart of Dubai. Whether you’re dining with friends or looking for a romantic evening out, OIA ensures every visit is a memorable one.
