REVIEW: The Ronin brunch is the ultimate feast for fans of Japanese food

Ronin Dubai Japanese Restaurant Interior

Between endless drinks, stellar food and stunning food, there’s no reason you should miss out on the feast that is the Ronin brunch

When Dubai’s weather gets more inviting than scorching, rooftop dining feels like a privilege. At the Ronin Brunch on the stunning rooftop of FIVE LUXE, the breezy terrace opens up to jaw-dropping views of Ain Dubai and the glimmering shoreline.

Apart from the signature warm welcome from the staff, what truly ties the experience together is the free-flowing selection of bottomless mixed drinks. Curated with some fresh and unique flavours, they complement the menu extremely well and the seamless service ensures your glass is never empty.

But while the drinks are stellar, the star of the show is undoubtedly the food – arguably some of the finest Japanese cuisine the city has to offer.

The sushi platter alone is enough to make this brunch worth your while. It’s a vibrant, artfully arranged medley featuring everything from pristine sashimi to expertly rolled maki. Each bite feels like a testament to the chef’s mastery, with flavours that are delicate, fresh, and utterly addictive. At least for us, it was the sushi platter of our dreams.

Of course, it’s not a Ronin experience without some intensely flavourful and tender kushiyaki and robatayaki, which take the experience to another level. Grilled to perfection, the skewers boast a smoky richness.

The brunch menu at Ronin is massive, so you’re going to want to set aside a good couple of hours to enjoy everything from the raw delights to hearty hot dishes, there’s a sense of indulgence in every bite.

Our appetites surrendered after the aforementioned avalanche of delicious appetisers, so we, unfortunately, had to skip the mains and head straight for the desserts.

The dessert platter was a feast for both the eyes and the palate, with a good mix of sweet, savoury, and freshness. The red bean doughnuts struck the perfect balance of sweetness, while the creamy cheesecake was almost too beautiful to eat. Paired with ice cream, fresh fruits, and other sweet treats, the finale was nothing short of spectacular.

Undeniably bang for your buck, the Ronin brunch is an experience that will linger long after the last bite. If you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine or just love a fabulous rooftop brunch, you won’t want to miss this.
