GEMS Education to offer 65 fully funded scholarships for schools in the UAE
GEMS Education has launched the GEMS Genius Scholarship programme to support high-achieving students across various disciplines, including academics, sports, the arts, technology, and entrepreneurship.
With nearly AED 5 million in scholarships funded annually through corporate partnerships, the programme aims to make high-quality education accessible to talented students, regardless of their financial background.
A broad scope for excellence
The scholarship programme offers 65 fully funded scholarships each year at 13 GEMS schools, catering to students entering Year 9 (Grade 8) and Year 12 (Grade 11). Students can apply in the following categories:
- Academics
- Sports & Athletics
- Visual Arts
- Performing Arts
- Technology, Gaming, and Innovation
- Arabic Studies
- Entrepreneurship
Each scholarship provides funding for a minimum of two years, enabling students to focus on their studies and chosen disciplines without financial concerns.
Open to a wide pool of applicants
Applications are open to students both within and outside the GEMS network. This merit-based approach aims to identify the most promising talents locally, regionally, and even internationally.
Lisa Crausby OBE, Group Chief Education Officer at GEMS Education, highlighted the programme’s mission: “Excellence should have no barriers…Our new scholarship programme is a testament to our commitment to nurturing the brightest and most talented students, regardless of background.”
A platform for aspiring leaders
GEMS Education has collaborated with corporate partners to provide students resources and mentorship. Steve Arnold, Head of Gifted and Talented at GEMS Education, stated, “This scholarship programme ensures that the most gifted young minds have the opportunity to thrive in an environment that challenges, inspires, and supports them.”
The GEMS Genius Scholarship builds on the achievements of past GEMS alumni, including Aadit Palicha, a former student of GEMS Modern Academy who co-founded the $5 billion start-up Zepto while still in school.
