Four days of fun, tradition, and treats – don’t miss this magical Emirati celebration at Global Village
Global Village is bringing an Emirati tradition to life with Hag Al Leila, a celebration that marks the countdown to Ramadan.
For the first time, the region’s favourite family destination will host a four-day event from 13-16 February, between 5pm and 8pm, at the heart of the park between the Main Stage and Dragon Lake.
Families and children can enjoy heritage-inspired activities, workshops, traditional treats, live entertainment, and plenty of sweets.
The celebration space will be transformed with traditional decor, palm fronds, woven mats, lanterns, and majlis seating.
Elderly women dressed in heritage attire will share folklore stories, songs, and proverbs while distributing Hag Al Leila sweets.

The tradition, observed on the 15th night of Sha’ban, has long been a way to strengthen community ties and instil values of generosity in younger generations.
This event is part of the UAE’s Year of Community and reflects Global Village’s commitment to celebrating cultures and preserving heritage.
It offers an opportunity for children and families to experience the magic of Emirati traditions in an interactive and meaningful way.
Mark your calendars and bring the whole family for a celebration filled with history, culture, and sweet moments.
