Heading to an event? Parking at DWTC is about to get pricier – here’s what to know.
If you’re planning to drive to a big event in Dubai, you might want to think twice because parking fees are about to spike.
From Monday 17 February parking at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) will be significantly more expensive during event hours.
Parkin, the city’s public parking operator, has announced that rates will jump to AED 25 per hour in the newly designated “Grand Event Zone.”
That’s a big leap from the previous prices, which started at just AED 2 for 30 minutes and maxed out at AED 16 for four hours.
The reasoning?
Cutting down on the usual gridlock that takes over the area when a major event is in full swing. Parkin is encouraging visitors to ditch their cars and take public transport instead, so if you’re heading to Gulfood or any other big show, it might be worth considering the metro.

This move isn’t coming out of nowhere.
Dubai has been rolling out congestion-based pricing, including variable Salik toll fees and adjustments to public parking rates across the city.
In fact, parking fees in high-demand areas will soon hit AED 6 per hour during peak times (8am to 10am and 4pm to 8pm).
Some neighbourhoods, like Al Sufouh 2, have already started seeing price hikes.
The bottom line?
If you’re driving, be ready to pay more – or find a smarter way to get there.
