President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared Emirati Day for Education in September 2024, stating that this special day pays tribute to all those working in the field of education, from teachers and students to policymakers and innovators.
Why 28 February? A date with history
This day holds historical significance—on 28 February 1982, the first cohort of teachers graduated from the United Arab Emirates University, an event attended by the nation’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
