A new children’s book is helping students build emotional resilience through tales of calm and friendship

Kent College Dubai is turning the page on traditional wellbeing education with the launch of The Brave Adventures of the KCD Bear, a heartwarming new storybook designed to help young learners navigate big feelings.

Created by the school’s Junior School and Nursery team, the book stars beloved mascots Hazel and Kenny Bear as they explore relatable situations like making friends, calming first-day nerves, and building self-belief.

Along the way, pupils are introduced to practical emotional tools drawn from the school’s Wellbeing Toolbox, including breathing techniques and positive affirmations.

The book is designed to bridge the gap between home and school, offering gentle strategies that support emotional growth from the earliest years.

The initiative is part of the wider KCD Cares programme, with all proceeds from the book going to the Al Jalila Foundation—so every purchase supports both young readers and meaningful causes, from animal welfare to cancer research.
