Get ready to bid like a boss for two-digit glory
Ready to make your car the most stylish thing on Sheikh Zayed Road?
The RTA is back with its 80th online auction; and this time, it’s all about flexing those digits.
Dubai’s plate game is heating up as 350 ultra-exclusive number plates go under the virtual hammer, ranging from sleek 2-digit power plays to cool 5-digit classics.
Whether you’re driving a supercar, a classic cruiser, or just want to park in style; there’s a plate with your name (well, number) on it.
What’s on the plate menu?

Codes from H to Z and even classic car plates are on offer. Think “H 11” or “Z 88888”; basically, if it looks like a WiFi password, it’s probably not in this auction.

How to join the number-nerd club:
Have a valid Dubai traffic file
Pay AED 120 entry fee (non-refundable, sorry!)
Submit a AED 5,000 security cheque to the RTA
Bid like you’re at an art auction, but cooler
You can handle all this at Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Al Barsha, or Deira, or skip the line and register online at www.rta.ae.
The auction officially kicks off on 11 August so go ahead and mark your calendar with gold stars; and will run for five glorious days.
If you’re one of the lucky winners, you’ll need to settle your payment within 10 working days. For purchases under AED 50,000, good old-fashioned cash will do the trick.
But if you’re going big and spending more, be ready with a certified cheque or credit card. And of course, don’t forget the 5 per cent VAT, this is Dubai, after all, where style always comes with a little sparkle tax.
So if you’ve ever dreamed of rolling up to brunch with a plate that screams “VIP”, now’s your chance. Start your engines, and your bidding fingers.
Let the number plate games begin.
