Finding your dream home could now come with an unexpected new family member.

UAE real estate agency haus & haus has launched an innovative campaign that places rescue cats and dogs alongside property listings, encouraging prospective homeowners to consider pet adoption as they search for their next move.

The initiative, believed to be a first for the UAE property sector, aims to help 50 rescue animals find permanent homes in partnership with two well-known animal welfare organisations: K9 Friends and Animals & Us, Fujairah.

Giving rescue pets the spotlight

As animal shelters across the UAE continue to operate at or near capacity, rescue organisations are facing growing pressure to care for abandoned dogs and cats.

To help raise awareness, haus & haus has digitally placed around 50 rescue pets into AI-generated home interiors inspired by its property listings. The animals appear naturally within living rooms, kitchens and bedrooms, allowing potential adopters to picture life with a four-legged companion in their future home.

Each featured pet also has its own profile, complete with information about its personality and a direct link to the relevant rescue organisation, making it easy for interested families to enquire about adoption.

Turning house hunting into a chance to adopt

The campaign is built around a simple idea: a pet is often what transforms a house into a home.

By reaching thousands of people already browsing for properties, haus & haus hopes to introduce rescue animals to an audience who may be starting a new chapter in life and could also be ready to welcome a pet into their family.

Representatives from both K9 Friends and Animals & Us have welcomed the initiative, saying it shines a spotlight on the growing need for pet adoption while helping rescue organisations reach more potential adopters.

Charlie Bannan, Managing Director at haus & haus, commented: “We’re always looking for new ways to connect with our customers, and this campaign gave us an opportunity to do something genuinely meaningful along the way. If more rescue animals find loving homes because of it, that’s a fantastic outcome.”

CEO at Animals & Us, Fujairah, Michelle Francis Mathanda, also said: “We’re delighted haus & haus approached us with such a smart campaign to help tackle a problem that rehoming organisations across the region are facing. Home listings are the perfect platform to encourage people to consider rescuing an animal at the same time as looking for a new home, and I’m confident this initiative will end in lots of beautiful rehoming stories.”

Every successful adoption not only gives an animal a second chance but also frees up valuable space for shelters to rescue another pet in need.

With creative campaigns like this bringing together property and purpose, finding a new address could also mean changing the life of a rescue animal forever.
