Wizz Air Abu Dhabi announces seven new destinations

Wizz Air Hungary will now fly to capital instead of Dubai.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is adding seven more destinations to its roster from Abu Dhabi.

The budget airline is launching routes to Muscat (Oman), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Sohag (Egypt), Odessa (Ukraine), Baku (Azerbaijan) and Kutaisi (Georgia).

The additions bring the Abu Dhabi airline’s destination list to 32.

Sarajevo and Odessa routes will become operational this week with two fights per week.

From Sunday 31 October, flights to the Omani capital, Muscat, will commence with fares starting from AED 109.

The other four cities will join the Wizz Air Abu Dhabi network in December.

Tickets for all seven destinations can be snapped already online on Wizz Air.

But that is not all the news from Abu Dhabi skies.

Wizz Air Hungary will be moving all of its UAE flights from Dubai to the capital from April 2022.

The airline who is launching flights from Catania (Italy), Katowice (Poland) and Cluj-Napoca (Romania) this week to Dubai, will then shift operations to Abu Dhabi next year.

Speaking on the announcements, Kees Van Schaick, Managing Director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, said the increase in routes shows the popularity of the airline.

He said: “Wizz Air Abu Dhabi continues to demonstrate the popularity of its services by adding more routes to its network as pandemic restrictions are lifted across the world and notably in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

“The UAE residents are itching for the chance to enjoy world-class culture and entertainment destinations.

“Our network from Abu Dhabi will expand rapidly as travel restrictions ease up, getting a significant boost when Wizz Air Hungary will start operating its flights to Abu Dhabi as of April 2022.”

It was also revealed that Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will add more flights to existing services to Alexandria, Belgrade, Kiev and Tirana.
