BREAKING NEWS: The border between Abu Dhabi and Dubai will be removed

There will no longer be a need to have a Al Hosn green pass to cross the Abu Dhabi/Dubai border.

The border between Abu Dhabi and Dubai will be removed it has been announced.

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters committee revealed today (25 February) that EDE scanners and the requirements for a green pass on the Al Hosn app to enter the Abu Dhabi emirate will cease to be enforced from Monday 28 February.

The decision comes in line with the start of the recovery phase of the Covid-19 pandemic, supported by the community’s commitment to preventive measures.

The border was re-erected between Abu Dhabi and its fellow emirates in December due to a surge in cases of COVID-19 due to the emergence of the Omicron variant.

Those in Abu Dhabi will however, still need a green pass on the Al Hosn app to enter places of businesses and entertainment in the capital.
