Brighton College Dubai pupils achieve top global Pearson Edexcel GCSE results

It’s a time for celebration at Brighton College Dubai as two Year 12 pupils have been recognised among the highest achievers worldwide in the 2024–25 Pearson Edexcel examination series.

Year 12 students Ibrahim Hassan Chatha and Rudayna Islam Yassin have been honoured with Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards (OPLAs) awarded to learners who achieve the highest marks globally, regionally or nationally in Pearson Edexcel qualifications.

Ibrahim achieved the Highest Mark in the World for GCSE Spanish and the Highest Mark in the Middle East for GCSE Physical Education. Rudayna received the Highest Mark in the World for GCSE Business.

The OPLAs are highly selective. In 2025, just over 2,100 learners from 740 schools in 85 countries were recognised. Brighton College Dubai also reports that a broader group of its pupils achieved Grade 8 or above in at least five subjects in the same exam series, indicating consistently strong outcomes across the cohort.

For Rudayna, this year’s award builds on an already impressive track record. Last year, she was recognised for top marks in International GCSE Mathematics A (world), GCSE French (Middle East) and International GCSE Computer Science (UAE).

Brighton College Dubai celebrated the achievements with an awards ceremony following the confirmation of the results at the end of 2025.

Congratulations to Ibrahim, Rudayna, and all students for their hard-earned exam success.
