Well, this is a no brainer; nevertheless, most of us, due to our busy schedules, often don’t drink enough water throughout the day. Mandara Spa recommends drinking lots of the good stuff to ensure that the body is nourished with fluids from within. The spa says you must consume at least three litres of water a day and reduce the consumption of fizzy drinks, sweetened beverages and caffeine. So get your water bottles filled!

Keep your skin moisturised

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise both your face and lips. Double cleansing is also recommended to remove excess oil and the application of a serum or a face mask will restore the skin’s firmness and lock in hydration for the long run. Prolonged sun exposure should be avoided, and sunscreen should be used daily, whether indoors or outdoors, to protect the skin barrier from UV rays that can cause damage and lead to dry and irritated skin. Proper sleep and rest is also important for a much-needed energy boost, and to help you unwind and meditate.

Use DIY face masks

For those who prefer home remedies or DIY face masks, Mandara Spa is suggesting that you use a facial sheet mask after cleansing and toning to give the skin an extra boost of hydration before applying some skincare products. For dry skin, a moisturiser should be used every day, with a richer or heavier one at night to support the skin barrier and lock in moisture. Avocado masks are an easy to make favourite for combating dehydrated skin. Mix a quarter of an avocado with one tablespoon of Greek yoghurt, apply on your skin, leave for 15 minutes and remove with warm water.
