The nightlife venue calls all budding DJs to face the music this September
Secret Room Dubai, the unparalleled destination for Hip-Hop and R&B enthusiasts, is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2023 DJ Competition. This exciting competition is a golden opportunity for budding Hip-Hop and R&B DJs to shine and secure a coveted residency set at the renowned Secret Room Dubai.
The competition invites talented DJs to showcase their skills and creativity by participating in a five-week journey that promises to captivate local and global audiences. Secret Room Dubai, in its pursuit of fostering talent and celebrating the essence of Hip-Hop culture, proudly introduces this competition to spotlight the vibrancy of Dubai’s DJ scene.
To enter the competition, DJs are encouraged to submit a 30-minute mix set, which will be featured on Secret Room’s esteemed social and media channels. The mix should be titled “Secret Room x cllctvdxb DJ Competition” and tagged with #SecretRoomdxb and #cllctv_dxb. All submissions must be entered before the 10 of September 2023, accurate tagging is key in the submission process as well as completing the submission form, which can be found on the venue’s Instagram page. Upon entry, DJs will also receive the competition’s personalized cover art in high resolution.

Secret Room Dubai has positioned itself as the definitive hub for the Resident DJ community within the city. The competition’s launch highlights Secret Room’s commitment to showcasing local talent in a shining light.
Over five weeks, the competition’s structure will unfold as follows a two-week registration period ending on 10 September 2023. The competition kicks off in mid-September with a selection of 16 talented applicants and four DJs performing 30-minute sets from 10 pm to 12 am each week. One DJ will be moving forward to the final round every week and the grand finale in week five features the remaining four DJs battling for supremacy.
The hard work and dedication of the participating DJs will be rewarded with impressive prizes, including: 1st Place: A 3-month paid weekly residency at Secret Room Dubai; 2nd Place: DJ Sets (valued at 10,000 AED); 3rd Place: 5,000 AED; 4th Place: 1,500 AED.
The judging process will be overseen by resident DJs from the esteemed SOHO Family Hospitality Group. Key factors considered during judging will encompass the number of plays, positive feedback, originality, venue suitability, track selection, and social media platforms for self-promotion. The final decision rests with SOHO Family Hospitality and its resident DJs, ensuring a fair and transparent evaluation process.
