Here’s everything you need to know to get around Dubai smoothly
Good news for anyone planning to hit the city for New Year’s Day: Dubai is giving drivers a little holiday gift, free parking!
Well, almost everywhere. On 1 January, you can park for free across the emirate, with the exception of multistorey car parks and Al Khail Gate N365.
Regular fees will resume on 2 January, so enjoy that parking “amnesty” while it lasts.
But that’s not all. Metro users, get ready to ride into the new year in style. Red and Green Line services kick off at 5am on 31 December and won’t stop until 11.59pm on 1 January.

Dubai Tram joins the party too, running from 6am on NYE until 1am on Friday, perfect for early birds and night owls alike.
Heads-up for bus travellers: Route E100 will take a little break starting NYE afternoon, with the last trip leaving Abu Dhabi at noon and Al Ghubaiba at 2pm.
But no worries, Route E101 from Ibn Battuta has got your back, and Route E102 will be running from 2pm on December 31 to keep you moving.
So whether you’re chasing fireworks, brunch, or just a late-night ride home, Dubai’s transport is making sure you can park it, ride it, and glide into 2026 without a hitch.
