Why couldn’t Mario find his kart? It got Toad!

Okay forgive us for the bad joke, but there is good news coming for gaming fans out there in Dubai.

A new programme for gaming is set to produce over 30,000 jobs in the industry as well as providing an overall boost to a sector which continues to grow week on week in general in Dubai.

The ‘Dubai Programme for Gaming 2023’ initiative is designed to bolster the city’s digital economy and hopes are high that it will increase its GDP by c.$1 billion by the year 2033.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of Dubai Executive Council launched the exciting new programme this week in Dubai with its vision to cement and enhance the city’s reputation as a major player in the global gaming industry.

The programme is expected to not only offer support for entrepreneurs and start-ups in the gaming industry, but also foster the growth of developers, programmers and designers in the region.

Dubai has proved in recent times its commitment to the digital economy with many new AI features and innovations being implemented throughout the city.

Just recently authorities have begun using autonomous electric vehicles to keep the city tidy and enhance the experience of both residents and tourists alike.

Last October, Dubai also hosted the GITEX conference over a five-day period which was a monumental success, creating a platform for the world to connect, innovate and forge lasting international partnerships in future innovation.
