Emirates has officially rolled out Crypto.com Pay as a new payment option, allowing eligible UAE customers to book flights using digital assets through the airline’s website and mobile app.
The launch makes Emirates one of the first major global airlines to integrate cryptocurrency payments directly into its booking platform, reflecting growing demand for digital payment options and reinforcing Dubai’s ambitions to become a global fintech hub.
The feature is available to eligible UAE residents booking flights in Emirati dirhams (AED). Customers simply select Crypto.com Pay at checkout before completing the transaction through the Crypto.com app.
The launch follows a partnership announced between Emirates and Crypto.com in 2025, when both companies signed an agreement to explore integrating digital payments into the airline’s booking system.
According to Emirates, the new payment option is designed to meet the expectations of digitally savvy travellers who increasingly manage both their finances and travel plans through their smartphones.
How to pay for Emirates flights with Crypto.com Pay
The payment process differs slightly depending on how customers make their booking.
On the Emirates App, customers selecting Crypto.com Pay are redirected to the Crypto.com app to authorise payment before returning to Emirates to receive their booking confirmation and e-ticket.
On emirates.com, customers choosing the payment option will be shown a QR code, which they scan using the Crypto.com app to approve the transaction. Once confirmed, their booking is completed instantly.
Supporting Dubai’s cashless future
The move also supports the Dubai Cashless Strategy, part of the emirate’s D33 Economic Agenda, which aims for 90 per cent of financial transactions across both the public and private sectors to be digital by the end of 2026.
Crypto.com’s Dubai operation powers the payment integration and operates under the UAE’s regulatory framework for digital financial services.
