Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is coming back to the UAE

Games against Al Ain and Shabab Al Ahli could give UAE fans another chance to see him live

UAE football fans could soon be treated to another Cristiano Ronaldo appearance on home soil, with the Al Nassr superstar set to return to the country for two AFC Champions League Elite matches this season.

The Saudi Pro League champions were drawn against Al Ain in Abu Dhabi and Shabab Al Ahli from Dubai in the 2026/27 competition, meaning Ronaldo and his Al Nassr teammates will make two trips to the UAE during the tournament.

And while the exact dates are still to come, fans will already be circling the fixtures.

For Dubai in particular, Ronaldo’s return will bring back memories of his most recent competitive appearance in the city, when Al Nassr faced Al Wasl at Zabeel Stadium earlier this year. It was quite the night.

Thousands of fans packed into the stadium to see the five-time Ballon d’Or winner in action, and they did not have to wait long for a moment to remember. Ronaldo found the net just over 10 minutes into the match before celebrating with his trademark “Siuuu”, sending the Dubai crowd into a frenzy.

Al Nassr eventually cruised to a 4-0 victory, with Ronaldo once again showing exactly why he remains one of the biggest draws in world football.

This time, however, UAE fans will have two opportunities to catch him.

Al Nassr’s away fixtures against Al Ain and Shabab Al Ahli will bring the Saudi giants back to the Emirates, with Al Ain likely to provide the first major UAE test for Ronaldo and his teammates.

For fans, the fixtures could be particularly significant given Ronaldo’s own comments about his future. The Portuguese superstar has indicated that the 2026/27 season could be his last, meaning every appearance is beginning to carry an extra sense of occasion.

After more than two decades at the very top of the game, the chance to see Ronaldo play competitively in the UAE may not come around many more times.

So whether you’re heading to Al Ain or hoping to catch Al Nassr back in Dubai, one thing is certain: Ronaldo’s next UAE visit will be one to watch.
