The ten-day programme is back with neighbourhood-led experiences across sport and culture

New Balance has announced the return of its annual Grey Days celebration, an exciting tribute to the brand’s most iconic colour and the legacy it represents.

Beginning 1 May 2026, Grey Days will run across the UAE with a mix of retail drops, cultural activations and community-led experiences.

In Dubai, the programme will take on a neighbourhood-style format, inviting the community to explore a series of creative spaces across Alserkal Avenue, one of the city’s key cultural districts.

Grey: the colour that shaped a brand

Grey became part of New Balance’s design identity in the 1980s, originally chosen for its practicality in urban environments.

While other brands leaned into bright, high-visibility tones, New Balance introduced grey as a grounded alternative, blending into concrete cityscapes and reflecting the reality of everyday running.

This year’s global campaign features athletes and ambassadors including Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Darius Garland, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Andrew Reynolds, alongside creative voices such as Aminé and Quincy Wilson, each contributing to storytelling around the colour’s cultural relevance.

Grey Days UAE: a neighbourhood experience in Alserkal Avenue

In the UAE, Grey Days moves beyond retail into a ten-day neighbourhood activation across Alserkal Avenue.

The concept is designed as a “neighbourhood hop,” encouraging visitors to move between spaces where sport, creativity, music and culture intersect.

Each location offers a different layer of the Grey Days narrative, bringing together community-first programming, workshops and live activations.

Speaking on Grey Days 2026, Stuart Henwood, Senior Director – New Balance MEAI, said: “Grey Days is a celebration of our legacy, but it is also a powerful reflection of what continues to define New Balance today: our fearlessly independent spirit and the confidence to keep evolving at the intersection of sport and culture. Grey is more than just a colour, it’s a symbol of timelessness, authenticity and quiet confidence.”

He added that the Middle East continues to be a key growth market for the brand, highlighting the importance of community-led experiences in the region.

The ten-day event positions New Balance at the intersection of sport, culture and community, bringing together product, place and people through a shared celebration of one of the brand’s most enduring design signatures.
