Hamdan Bin Mohammed For Dubai Farms Initiative

From providing subsidies to Emirati farmers to raising the GDP, here’s all the benefits of the Dubai Farms initiative

In keeping with the Year of Sustainability, there’s a new programme in the UAE to support Emirati farmers.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, has officially launched the Dubai Farms initiative.

The aim here is to advance sustainable agriculture across Dubai and help subsidise farming supplies, provide farming consultation services and pest control services among other offerings.

In a post on social media platform X, Sheikh Hamdan said the plan is “…a testament to our dedication to improving the quality of life for our citizens and ensuring a prosperous future for generations to come”.

His Highness stressed the vital importance of local agriculture in Dubai, and the need to develop and sustain it to reflect Sheikh Mohammed’s vision to establish Dubai as the world’s best city to live and work – a key pillar of Dubai’s comprehensive development plans that focus on building the capacity of strategic sectors.
