Bringing 230 rooms, buzzy dining spots and a brand-new wellness club to Dubai
Dubai is getting a new hotel, and this one is bringing a rather interesting twist to the city’s hospitality scene.
The Hoxton Media City Dubai is set to become the brand’s first hotel in the UAE and the Middle East, as Ennismore partners with Select Group to bring its much-loved community-focused concept to Dubai.
And while the hotel itself is a pretty big deal, the real headline-maker could be its brand-new wellness club, the first of its kind from The Hoxton anywhere in the world.
A new Hoxton for Dubai
Set in Dubai Media City, the upcoming hotel will bring The Hoxton’s signature blend of design, culture, food and community to one of the city’s most creative neighbourhoods.
And this won’t just be somewhere to check in and sleep.
The Hoxton has built its reputation around creating hotels that feel like a genuine extension of their neighbourhood, with lively communal spaces designed to bring locals, creatives, entrepreneurs and travellers together.
The Dubai outpost is set to follow the same playbook. With Dubai Media City already home to major media companies, production studios, digital businesses and creative talent, it’s a pretty natural fit.
Luxurious rooms and places to dine
The hotel will feature 230 rooms, with interiors designed by AIME Studios, Ennismore’s in-house interior design studio.
The existing building is being completely reimagined through a multi-million-dirham redevelopment, with the finished hotel set to combine The Hoxton’s residential-style aesthetic with the ever-changing personality of Dubai Media City.
And then there’s the food. The hotel will house a collection of dining and drinking concepts created by Paris Society, the group behind some of Dubai’s biggest restaurants and nightlife destinations.
One of the new arrivals will be Unaka, a Japanese sushi roll concept created in collaboration with award-winning French restaurateur and culinary creative Moisés Sfez.
Then there’s Bleachers, a social sports bar designed for watching the big game over food and drinks, with a playful, entertainment-led atmosphere.
Also joining the line-up is El Bambini, Paris Society’s Italian trattoria concept, which combines a warm, social setting with an open kitchen and lively drinks area.
And if rooftop drinks are more your thing, Tope will bring its Mexican-inspired menu and bold cocktails to Dubai, following successful outposts in Barcelona, Portland and Brussels.
Naturally, The Hoxton’s signature lobby will be at the heart of it all, acting as the hotel’s social hub with food, drinks, local talent, pop-ups, cultural events and creative happenings.
The first Hoxton wellness club in the world
Now for the part that really caught our attention. The Hoxton Media City Dubai will be home to the first Hoxton wellness club in the world.
Designed as a destination in its own right, the new wellness space will combine fitness, recovery and socialising under one roof.
Expect a large workout space, movement and fitness studios, spa treatment rooms and contrast therapy facilities, alongside a dedicated members’ lounge.
The design will follow The Hoxton’s trademark residential feel, meaning it should feel more like a stylish social space than your standard hotel gym.
There will also be a health-focused café from Biaum, the wellness brand connected to the club.
The idea is to create a place where guests and Dubai residents can work out, recover, grab something healthy and hang out – all without feeling like they’ve wandered into a clinical fitness centre.
Why Dubai Media City?
The location makes plenty of sense. Dubai Media City sits at the heart of the city’s innovation corridor, surrounded by Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah and Jumeirah Lakes Towers.
It’s also one of Dubai’s established creative and business hubs, making it a natural home for The Hoxton’s community-first approach.
Rather than simply dropping a hotel into the neighbourhood, the brand says the aim is to create a space where the local creative community can meet, collaborate and exchange ideas.
In other words, expect plenty of activity beyond the hotel’s guest rooms.
The Hoxton’s global expansion
The Dubai opening marks another major step in The Hoxton’s international growth. The brand began life in Shoreditch, East London, before developing a global following for its distinctive hotels and lively social spaces.
It now has 19 hotels across the UK, Europe and the US, with further properties planned in cities including Melbourne, Oslo, Nashville, Mexico City and Bengaluru.
For Ennismore, meanwhile, the Dubai project adds another major name to its rapidly expanding Middle Eastern portfolio, which currently includes more than 70 hotels and resorts across the Middle East, Türkiye and North Africa, representing more than 23,000 rooms.
So, yes, Dubai is getting another hotel.
But with a world-first wellness club, a serious collection of restaurants and a very Hoxton approach to community, this one looks set to be a little different.
