The overall cost of the project was a whopping AED3 billion
If you’re planning a relaxing day out at the beach anytime soon in Dubai, the recently re-opened Al Mamzar Beach is one to add to your list.
Khor Al Mamzar Beach has opened its doors to the public again after a major AED3billion revamp, and this is a full transformation into an all-day, and even all-night, destination.
First things first, space. The beach has more than doubled in size, with the swimming shoreline now stretching out to 3.6km. That means more room to spread out, whether you’re there for a swim, a walk, or just a lazy few hours by the water.
The entire beachfront now covers a huge area, so it feels far less crowded than before.
One of the standout additions is the region’s first floating walkway, which lets you move across the water and explore different parts of the beach in a much more interesting way than your usual stroll.
If you’re someone who likes to stay active, there’s plenty to keep you busy. You’ve got over 5.5km of running, walking, and cycling tracks, plus outdoor gyms, beach volleyball courts, and even padel facilities.

You can start your morning with a run, cool off with a swim, and still have plenty to do afterwards.
One of the biggest standout additions though is the introduction of a dedicated night beach.
Around 300 metres of shoreline is now set up for evening swimming, which means you’re no longer limited to daytime visits.

So, whether it’s a post-work dip or a late-night hangout by the sea, it opens up a whole new way to use the space.
This is all part of a much bigger plan led by Dubai Municipality to upgrade beaches across the city.
The wider initiative, worth billions, is focused on turning Dubai’s coastline into a series of high-quality, accessible destinations that work for both residents and visitors.
The takeaway from all of this is that if you haven’t been to Al Mamzar in a while, it’s definitely worth another look.
It’s bigger, better, and built for everything from quick visits to full-day (and night) beach plans.
