If your idea of a perfect long weekend involves a good book, a comfy spot by the pool, and absolutely zero notifications, then this Dubai sale is about to make your day.

To celebrate the Islamic New Year long weekend, Bookends is hosting a huge AED1 Book Sale, giving readers the chance to pick up pre-loved books for less than the price of a bottle of water.

Taking place from 13 to 15 June, the sale will feature 1,000 books priced at just Dhs1 each, alongside hundreds more titles available for AED2 and AED5.

Whether you’re into gripping thrillers, bestselling fiction, inspiring biographies, children’s books, cookbooks, or hidden literary gems you’ve never heard of, there’s bound to be something worth adding to your shelf.

And let’s be honest, there are few things more satisfying than discovering a great book for next to nothing.

The timing couldn’t be better either. With a three-day weekend on the cards, many residents will be looking for ways to slow down, switch off, and enjoy a little downtime.

So, if you’re spending the break at home, heading away for a staycation, lounging by the beach, or escaping on a short trip, stocking up on a few new reads feels like the perfect excuse to unplug.

Even better, every purchase helps give pre-loved books a second life, making it a sustainable way to refresh your reading list without breaking the bank.

The sale also supports Bookends’ recently launched One Million Books Challenge, an ambitious five-year initiative encouraging readers across the UAE to collectively read and log one million books.

So that bargain novel you pick up this weekend could end up contributing to a much bigger reading movement.

The AED1 Book Sale will run in-store only from 13 to 15 June, between 10am and 9pm.

If you’ve been meaning to read more this year, consider this your sign. Just don’t be surprised if you walk in planning to buy one book and leave carrying a stack.

13 to 15 June, Dubai Digital Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis. For further information, visit bookends.ae
