Time to celebrate the 52nd UAE Union Day!
With long weekend plans in full swing, the country is queuing up to spot some marvellous fireworks shows, as well as some cultural and entertaining concerts. With celebrations come massive traffic jams, especially with the UAE Union Day coinciding with COP28 in Dubai.
Fear not, for the Road and Transport Authority in Dubai (RTA) has got ahead of the traffic game and announced diversions on Sheikh Zayed Road during the upcoming long weekend.
There’s more good news though! The RTA has also confirmed free public parking for the Union Day long weekend.
Parking will remain free from Saturday, 2 December to Monday, 4 December 4. Normal parking charges will resume on Tuesday, 5 December.
Additional the following centres will see a difference in working hours over the coming days.
Service Provider Centres (Vehicle Testing)
Service provider centres will be closed during the holiday starting from Saturday, 2 December. Vehicles technical inspection services in the following centres will resume on 4 December: Tasjeel Al Twar, AutoPro Satwa, AutoPro Al Mankhool, Tasjeel Al Awir, and Al Yalayis.

Customer Happiness Centres

While all centres will remain close in person, the Smart Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Kifaf, and RTA’s Head Office will continue operating as usual.
Public Buses
From 1-3 December, the following bus routes will be redirected on Sheikh Zayed Road (only towards Abu Dhabi): 10, 15, 21, 7, 8, 83, 91, E101, 98E, 96, 95A, 95, 91A, X94, X92, E102.
Expect delays for these bus timings during the redirection period from 6.30am to 11am, in addition to some cancellations owing to road diversions. The stops will also be closed during the mentioned date and time.
